Saturday, March 2, 2024, was a milestone day for Edison High School. In the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Portland Downtown, we welcomed nearly 300 guests to join us in celebrating our 50th Anniversary Brilliance Benefit!

Our community welcomed Emily Treasarden, '24, who shared her academic journey and path to becoming an accomplished artist and successful student. Being profiled for her dyslexia and ADHD made her primary school years difficult, isolating, and discouraging. Emily's experiences throughout middle and early high school led her to believe she was lazy and incapable. When she transferred to Edison, Emily was given the support she needed, and her attitude toward herself and her abilities transformed. This year, she was accepted into all eight of the colleges she applied to and received a $140,000 scholarship from one. Emily has found her voice, continues to improve her art, and, "most importantly, " as she said in her speech, "I am proud of my work. "

Edison High School is committed to providing an environment where students like Emily can thrive and realize their potential. The success of our 50th Anniversary Brilliance Benefit was instrumental in supporting this commitment. The proceeds from the event played a crucial role in funding vital 2023-24 programming such as our Orton-Gillingham tutoring, financial aid, technology, excursions, and more. Your contributions have directly impacted the lives of our students, making a significant difference in their educational journey. And it's not too late to support Edison this year!

At Edison High School, we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our community. Your generosity has been instrumental in maintaining our commitment to empowering students with learning differences to achieve academic and personal success. On behalf of our students, parents and guardians, Board of Directors, and faculty and staff, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who made our 50th Anniversary Brilliance Benefit a resounding success! Your support not only makes a significant impact at Edison but also in the lives of students with learning differences everywhere. We truly appreciate your continued support and dedication to our cause.
